Mother's Day Challenge

Do you do the shopping for your mil on mother's day or make the hubby do it?

Share your favorite MILDEW moment from a previous mother's day, or tell us what you plan to get your mil for mother's day this year.

I have hubby pick them - which means she doesn't get ANYTHING! But then again as the mother of his children/grandmother of his grandchildren neither do I from him.

I make hubby, for both his step-evil and his good real mommy. I deal with my mommy.

The step-MIL is never satisfied with anything he does, as she feels I had something to do with it, thus making whatever gift unacceptable. She's lucky to get a card or phone call, and certainly not both.

I usually send flowers or I remind my hubby to do something. My MIL's b-day is tomorrow, by the way.

DIL, please send me the link to your other blog. I want to add it to my blogroll. Just put it in my comments next time you stop by. Thanks!

Shopping for MIL has, for my hubs, consisted of getting a card. Until I came along and wanted her to have nice things. But the card is his responsibility. I am a crafty person, I MAKE cards...but heaven forbid she gets something that was handmade and not store bought. Yes, you read that right. I MUST buy a card in order for her to feel special. It MUST say mother or mom on it (this applies to ALL holidays, too). Sad, but true....

i used to pick them, but then i got sick of it. why should spend time trying to think of something nice when her own son doesn't? this was the first year the hubs was supposed to do it, so NOW he's decided a phone call and a card are fine. go figure.

I just found this blog and wanted to say, you ladies are lucky you have somewhere to vent about you MIL's. Mine reads my blog, so I can't exactly say anything about her.
I always make my hubby buy his Mom's presents for everything. I give suggestions and sign the card, but it is his responsibility.

I used to go out of my way and make her crafty things since that's what she always seemed to like. One year, I made her a beautiful cross stitch with a poem about mothers on it, one year I crocheted her an afghan, one year I made her some throw pillows, well, you get the idea. lol

But, I have yet to see any of the seven gifts that I've made her anywhere in her house. So, I decided not to waste anymore time on the woman and told hubby that it's his mom and he can get her the gifts and that I'll get for my mom.

No matter what I do, she won't like or appreciate it so I don't do for her anymore. Not for Mother's Day, her birthday or Christmas.

I don't think of it until the day before, and then I remind my husband he needs to figure it out. My MIL has everything (litterally EVERY THING) that you could imagine...the only thing that she could REALLY use is one of those professional organizers. She's probably kiss me (bleh) if we got her one.

I send flowers. The card includes my husband's name as well as my children's names, but NEVER ONCE have I included my own name. Nope, can't make myself wish her a happy anything.

I only send the flowers because it makes my husband happy.
